MBP. The provision of the Manage Benefit Program (MBP) became effective September 1, 1987. (MBP replaces MAP). NOTES: * Over 90% of the physicians in Rhode Island have voluntary agreements with Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Under this arrangement, the physician agrees to accept Blue Shield payments for covered services under the Plan 100 program as payment IN FULL.
