Maximum Limited/Light Duty Periods. Limited/light duty work is temporary and intended to provide employees with a period of time in which to recover and return to full-duty status. As such, limited/light duty shall not be permanent and shall be limited in duration in accordance with the following. Exhaustion of the maximum period of limited/light duty will result in the employee’s separation from service, consistent with paragraphs 3 and 4, unless he/she has retired from service or has accepted transfer to a civilian position.
