Mass Diagram. The Contractor shall prepare a mass diagram showing in as much detail as the Engineer may consider necessary the programmed movement of the earth for measurement purposes. The programme for earthworks shall be submitted for the approval of the Engineer before the commencement of the Works. Such approval shall not be deemed to relieve the Contractor of any of his responsibilities under the Contract. The Contractor shall before preparing his earthworks programme, carry out such soil testing as necessary to determine the suitability of materials for use in the Works.
