Mandatory Language Clause Samples

Mandatory Language. Unless otherwise stated, the words “shall”, “must”, “will”, and other words commonly construed as indicative of a mandatory obligation are to be construed as imposing a mandatory requirement or obligation.

Mandatory Language. This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created.

Mandatory Language. All deeds, leases or contracts made or entered into by Developer, its successors or assigns, as to any portion of the Project shall contain therein the following language: "Grantee herein covenants by and for itself, its successors and assigns that there shall be no discrimination against or segregation of a person or of a group of persons on account of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer related), marital status, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, gender, age (over 1 veteran status, or any other non-merit factor in the sale, lease, sublease, transfer, use, occupancy, tenure or enjoyment of the property herein conveyed nor shall the grantee or any person claiming under or through the grantee establish or permit any such practice or practices of discrimination or segregation with reference to the selection, location, number, use or occupancy of tenants, lessees, subtenants, sublessees or vendees in the property herein conveyed. The foregoing covenant shall run with the land."

Mandatory Language. Whenever a clause or provision has mandatory text, the sponsor must incorporate the text of the provision without change, except where specific adaptive input is necessary (e.g. such as the sponsor’s name).
