Common use of MANAGEMENT BENEFIT PROGRAM Clause in Contracts

MANAGEMENT BENEFIT PROGRAM. POLICE SERGEANTS‌ 39.1 The CITY shall make available to Police Sergeants, a special Management benefit, consisting of an additional forty (40) hours of compensation, prorated for permanent part-time employees which may be taken in either cash or time off, or a combination of the two, at the employee’s option. If taken in cash, payment shall be made at the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay and may be requested by the employee at any time between July 1 and June 30 of each fiscal year, subject to the approval of the Chief of Police. The Management benefit is granted on July 1 of the fiscal year and is not accumulative from year to year. If the employee’s forty (40) hour bank has not been exhausted by June 30, the balance will be automatically paid off at the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay as of June 30. The program will be administered in accordance with guidelines issued by the Administrative Services Department. 39.2 Police Lieutenants and Police Captains shall be exempt from this Article 39.
