LWOP Sample Clauses
The LWOP (Leave Without Pay) clause allows an employee to take an approved absence from work without receiving their regular salary during the period of leave. Typically, this clause outlines the conditions under which such leave can be requested, such as for personal reasons, extended illness, or other circumstances not covered by paid leave policies. By formalizing the process for unpaid leave, the LWOP clause provides both the employer and employee with clear expectations regarding job security, benefits continuation, and the duration of the absence, thereby ensuring clarity and consistency in handling unpaid absences.
LWOP. An acronym for leave without pay, as that term is used in Article 11 of this Agreement. This may also be referred to as a “leave of absence without pay.”
LWOP. Employees may be granted leave of absence without pay in accordance with applicable regulations provided the Employer determines that their services can be spared from their work. Employees on such leave will be entitled to return to a job of like status, pay and seniority within the limitations prescribed in governing regulations.
LWOP. The Agency will consider all employee applications for LWOP. The Agency will administer ▇▇▇▇ equitably and approval or disapproval of employee requests will be made with due consideration of personal hardship and the needs of both the Agency and the employee in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and this Agreement.
LWOP. Change to comply with Alberta Employment Standards Code with regard to Family Responsibility Days.
LWOP. The Employer may approve LWOP for the following reasons:
1. Birth of a child of the employee and/or the care of a newborn, placement of a child with the employee for adoption or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ care, the care of a spouse, child, step-child, or parent of the employee for a serious health condition, death of a member of the immediate family;
2. Service as an officer or representative of the Association;
3. To accompany a Government employee spouse to a new duty location, not to exceed one school year from the beginning of the next school year;
4. Professional conferences and educational purposes as approved by the Agency;
5. FMLA as provided for by Agency regulation; or
6. Circumstances other than those set out above;
