Common use of Load Balancing Clause in Contracts

Load Balancing. If a full-time contract or regular instructor is assigned a load greater or less than that considered a full load for a given semester because of special needs of the District, the instructor's load will be adjusted during subsequent semesters so that over a four- semester period (two semesters in the case of a first-year teacher,) the average load will be 15 lecture hours or the equivalent per semester. The load will be calculated by the percentage method as stated in the formula: Lecture Lecture/lab Laboratory C B A Lecture Lecture/lab Laboratory
