Common use of Limitation of Liability of VIU Clause in Contracts

Limitation of Liability of VIU. Neither VIU nor its employees, agents, contractors, or sub-contractors shall be responsible for property belonging to you which may be lost, stolen or damaged in any way, regardless of cause, wherever this may occur on the VIU Student Residence property, including a Room and in bicycle storage areas. Neither VIU nor its employees, agents, contractors, or sub- contractors shall be responsible for any injury, damage or loss whatsoever caused to you and/or your guests while in or about the VIU Student Residence or while engaged in activities organized or sponsored by VIU. This includes, but shall not be limited to: damage caused by building systems, defects in the structure of the building, water or snow penetration, weather conditions, damage arising from any cause beyond the control of VIU and damage or injury arising from the activities of VIU employees, agents, contractors, or sub-contractors.
