Iodine Clause Samples
The 'Iodine' clause establishes requirements or standards related to the presence, use, or handling of iodine within the context of the agreement. Typically, this clause might specify acceptable iodine levels in products, mandate testing for iodine content, or outline procedures for managing iodine in manufacturing or supply processes. Its core practical function is to ensure compliance with health, safety, or regulatory standards concerning iodine, thereby protecting parties from potential legal or quality issues related to improper iodine management.
Iodine. The relevant government food authority’ dairy standard for the iodine level of milk is a maximum of 500 µg/L (micrograms per litre). Norco has the ability to test for iodine and if a Supplier’s milk exceeds the iodine standard the factory will notify the Supplier and suspend milk collection until a satisfactory level has been achieved. Milk Suppliers should be aware that only products registered for use as a pre-milking teat preparation should be used.
Iodine. The level of iodine in milk will be monitored. Suppliers whose milk is found to have an iodine level of >60ug/100g will be contacted by SDA and the relevant milk consignment(s) may be subject to milk quality discounts based on the quality grading of that milk (refer Table 1, Section 4.2). The use of unregistered pre-milking teat disinfectants is strictly prohibited. Suppliers are encouraged to purchase their own antibiotic residue kits, which are available through rural retail outlets and some veterinary clinics. Antibiotic residue test kits offer the convenience of residue testing on-farm and discourage risk-taking where residue contamination is suspected. The results of any on-farm residue testing must be interpreted as a guide only. Wherever there is any uncertainty of the residue status of milk, a vat sample must be submitted to an SDA or approved remote testing site for confirmation.
Iodine. The level of iodine in the milk may be monitored at the discretion of Milk Department. An acceptable value for iodine content is < 60 µg/100g and levels above this will be investigated.
