International Obligations. 1. The Parties reaffirm their existing rights and obligations with respect to each other under the SPS Agreement. 2. Nothing in this Chapter shall prevent a Party from adopting, implementing or maintaining measures necessary to achieve its appropriate level of protection for human, animal or plant life or health consistent with its rights and obligations under the SPS Agreement.
