International Data Space Clause Samples
International Data Space. IDS: The International Data Spaces (IDS) is a virtual data space leveraging existing standards and technologies, as well as governance models well-accepted in the data economy, to facilitate secure and standardized data exchange and data linkage in a trusted business ecosystem. It thereby provides a basis for creating smart-service scenarios and facilitating innovative cross-company business processes, while at the same time guaranteeing data sovereignty for data owners. In particular these aspects related of security and data sovereignty in inter-organisational communication are very relevant for the PLATOON project. Moreover, the PLATOON work package 3 related to “WP3-Data Governance, Security and Privacy” will investigate and experiment IDS approaches and technologies. The concept of compliance of PLATOON architecture In the following section it will be briefly described how the PLATOON reference architecture can be directly related to the key aspect of the IDS reference architecture model (IDS RAM v3.0 [17]) demonstrating his compliance with the IDS approach and the consequent implementation with IDS specific component. The basic definition of three IDS key components will be presented, such as the Connector, the Broker and the App Store and how they are logically compliant with the respective PLATOON components. Additional information about the possible implementation of PLATOON using IDS will be presented in WP3. Two different entities (Data provider/Data consumer) using two certified IDS connectors can exchange data, using secure transmission protocols, assuring the reliability of the parties involved defining specific usage control data policies. Following the official definition, the IDS App Store is a secure platform for distributing Data Apps that can be deployed inside the Connector; An IDS App Store consists of a registry for available Data Apps in this App Store. Therefore, an App Store supports operations for Data App registration, publication, maintenance, and query, as well as operations for the provisioning of a Data App to a connector. These basic operations can be complemented by additional services, e.g. billing or support activities. The IDS Broker consists of a special IDS Connector, a service for data source registration, publication, maintenance, and query, based on an index. The IDS Broker manages connector self-descriptions that can contain Usage Policies. Therefore, the Broker must be able to support Usage Policies. Using an int...
