Internal Isolation Sample Clauses

Internal Isolation. Every pupil has a right to education. However, if their actions infringe on the rights of others, they may be given an alternative timetable. A pupil may be kept apart from the other pupils for a day or longer for continual misbehaviour or for a more serious disciplinary matter. The teacher who would have had the pupil during this time will be expected to set the work that is to be completed. This decision will be taken by the Leadership Team and parents will be automatically informed.
Internal Isolation. If a member of SLT considers that a behaviour incident is serious enough – a student may be placed for a short period of time in internal isolation. If this sanction is decided upon – in agreement with the Headteacher – parents /carers will be informed by the member of staff setting the sanction. A letter will be sent home outlining the protocols and procedures for such a sanction and the student will be informed. When setting internal isolation as a sanction the student will be set work in accordance with their usual curriculum. Students will be supervised by staff in the school and have an opportunity to discuss their behaviours and review them before they are reintegrated back into school.
