Insurance Participation. An employee on unpaid leave is eligible to participate in group insurance programs if permitted under the insurance policy provisions, but shall pay the entire premium for such program as the employee wishes to retain, commencing with the beginning of the unpaid leave. The right to continue participation in such group insurance programs, however, will terminate if the employee does not return to the School District pursuant to this section.

Insurance Participation. Retirees from the school corporation and their spouse shall be allowed to remain on the group health, dental and vision plans until the first (1st) day of the month following their eligibility for Medicare, provided the retiree pays 100% of the premiums. A retiree is defined as a teacher who meets the criteria as established by state law (IC 5-10-8-2.6).

Insurance Participation. A bargaining unit member on unpaid leave may participate in any insurance program provided for hereunder at his/her own expense, but only to the extent permitted by the insurance carrier and in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law AKA COBRA and in accordance with Board Policy relating to the Family Medical Leave Act.
