Installation and Fixing. 26.4.8.2.1 The flat base of the tank shall be supported over its whole bottom area on a properly prepared level surface. 26.4.8.2.2 For inlet/outlet connection fully threaded GI/Brass connection with hexagonal check nuts and rubber gaskets on either side of the tank wall shall be provided. Holes for the threaded connection shall be drilled and not punched. The check nut of the threaded connections should be placed after placing rubber gaskets and should not be over tightened. Under no circumstances jointing compound or putty be employed in contact with the tank. PTFE (Polythetra fluethylene) (Teflon) tape may be wrapped around the threaded portion of the valves. 26.4.8.2.3 Pipes entering or leaving the tank shall be provided with unions and shall be suitably supported on a firm base so that it is aligned properly and not produced any distortion to the tank where fittings are used.
