Information Exchange Security Technical Controls. IHS uses an encrypted virtual private network (VPN) tunnel for remote connections and data transfer. IHS uses network-based, passive intrusion detection systems to inspect all inbound and outbound network activity and identify suspicious patterns that may indicate a network or system attack from someone attempting to break into or compromise a system. IHS uses firewalls to control the ports, protocols, IPs leaving the boundary of the network. Members must use an encrypted LAN-to-LAN (L2L) VPN tunnel for remote connections and data transfer.
