The "In lessons" clause defines the rules and expectations that apply specifically during instructional sessions or classes. It typically outlines acceptable behavior, participation requirements, or the use of materials and technology while lessons are in progress. By setting clear standards for conduct and engagement during lessons, this clause helps maintain an effective learning environment and minimizes disruptions.
In lessons. Some teachers will use the iPads in lessons more than others. This is likely to vary dramatically throughout the year as some lessons/topics may be more suited to the use of new technology than others.
In lessons. Arriving at school between 8:30am – 08:58am and getting to all lessons ready to start on time at 9:00am • Having the correct equipment in every lesson and their desk set out and ready for learning (the equipment list is in section 2.1.5)
In lessons. Arriving at the academy by 8:25am and to their coaching room by 8:30am and getting to all lessons on time • Having the Power of 6 in every lesson (planner, pencil case, reading book, knowledge organiser, water bottle, iPad) and their desk set out and ready for learning (planner, exercise book, reading book, pencil case). If a planner is lost, students will need to purchase a new one from Student Services for £5 • Wearing the correct uniform smartly throughout the day • Entering the classroom calmly, greeting the teacher and starting the ‘Do Now’ activity in silence • Only drinking water and not otherwise eating, chewing or drinking in class. (No drink other than plain water is allowed in the Academy)

(Packed lunch must be eaten outside of lesson time, no chewing gum allowed, only water in lessons) • Being an active learner by engaging with the activities set by the teacher, and demonstrating this by SLANTing at all times (Sitting up, Listening, Asking and Answering questions, Nodding, Tracking the speaker) • Always recording homework and completing homework on time and to an excellent standard • Making sure that students catch up with their learning if they have been absent from school or have fallen behind for other reasons • Believing that we are all part of a learning family and are all responsible/ accountable for each other’s behaviours - students must encourage positive behaviour from family members.
