Immediate Supervisor or Manager. If an employee has a grievance, the employee shall first present the grievance in writing to the employee’s immediate supervisor within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date the employee was or should have been aware that the grievance existed. The Union Delegate shall be present, if requested by the employee. If the Union Delegate participates in the meeting, a Human Resources representative (or designee) may also be present at this Step 1 meeting. Upon receipt thereof, the immediate supervisor shall attempt to resolve the problem and shall respond in writing to the employee within fourteen (14) calendar days following receipt of the written grievance.
