Handhole Clause Samples

A Handhole clause defines the requirements and specifications for the installation and use of handholes in a construction or utility project. Typically, it outlines the size, material, placement, and access standards for handholes, which are underground enclosures used to house and provide access to cables, conduits, or other utilities. For example, the clause may require that handholes be installed at specific intervals along a cable route and be constructed to withstand certain load ratings. The core function of this clause is to ensure safe, accessible, and durable access points for maintenance and inspection of underground utilities, thereby facilitating ongoing operations and minimizing future disruptions.
Handhole. The term “Handhole” refers to a structure similar in function to a Manhole, but which is too small for personnel to enter. As used in this Attachment, the term “Handhole” refers only to Handholes which are part of AT&T’s Conduit System, and does not refer to handholes which provide access to buried cables not housed within AT&T Ducts or Conduits. As used in this Attachment, the term “Handhole” refers only to Handhole structures owned or controlled by AT&T and does not include cables and other telecommunications equipment located within Handhole structures.
Handhole. The term “handhole” refers to a structure similar in function to a manhole, but which is too small for personnel to enter. As used in this Agreement, the term “handhole” refers only to handholes which are part of SWBT’s conduit system and does not refer to handholes which provide access to buried cables not housed within SWBT ducts or conduits. As used in this Agreement, the term “handhole” refers only to handhole structures owned or controlled by SWBT and does not include cables and other telecommunications equipment located within handhole structures.
Handhole. The term “handhole” refers to a structure similar in function to a manhole, but which is too small for personnel to enter. As used in this Appendix, the term “handhole” refers only to handholes which are part of SBC MISSOURI’S conduit system and does not refer to handholes which provide access to buried cables not housed within SBC MISSOURI ducts or conduits. As used in this Appendix, the term “handhole” refers only to handhole structures owned or controlled by SBC MISSOURI and does not include cables and other telecommunications equipment located within handhole structures.
Handhole. The term "Handhole" refers to a shallow enclosure, usually below ground level and accessed through a hole on the surface covered with a lid, which personnel may insert a hand for the purpose of installing, operating, and maintaining facilities in a Conduit or Duct Bank.
Handhole. Reinforce the handhole opening with a minimum 2-inch wide hot rolled steel rim. The nominal outside dimension is 6 inches x 27 inches. The handhole will have a tapped hole for mounting the portable winch thereto as shown on the drawings. Locate the handhole three feet above the base plate. Handhole includes a stainless steel tether chain.
Handhole. The term handhole refers to a structure similar in function to a manhole, but which is too small for personnel to enter. As used in this Agreement, the term handhole refers only to handholes which are part of RCN s conduit system and does not refer to handholes which provide access to buried cables not housed within RCN ducts or conduits. As used in this Agreement, the term handhole refers only to handhole structures owned or controlled by RCN and does not include cables and other telecommunications equipment located within handhole structures.
Handhole. A round underground pathway element similar to a handbox, which cannot be fully entered, that allows for a pulling point in a pathway.
