H Azardous Materials Clause Samples

The Hazardous Materials clause defines the responsibilities and requirements related to the handling, storage, and disposal of substances classified as hazardous within the scope of a contract or project. Typically, this clause outlines which party is responsible for identifying hazardous materials, complying with relevant environmental laws, and ensuring safe procedures are followed during any work involving such substances. For example, it may require contractors to notify the owner if hazardous materials are discovered on site or to follow specific protocols for removal and disposal. The core function of this clause is to allocate responsibility and mitigate risks associated with hazardous materials, thereby protecting parties from legal liability and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
