The GUILD ACCESS clause defines the terms under which individuals or entities are permitted to enter or use the facilities, resources, or services provided by a guild. Typically, this clause outlines eligibility requirements, such as membership status, payment of dues, or adherence to specific rules and codes of conduct. For example, it may specify that only registered members in good standing can participate in guild meetings or access certain online platforms. The core function of this clause is to establish clear boundaries and expectations for access, thereby maintaining order and protecting the interests of the guild and its members.
GUILD ACCESS. The Guild’s authorized staff representatives shall have access to the Employer’s premises where employees covered by this Agreement are working for the purpose of investigating grievances and contract compliance, after notifying the Employer. Access for other purposes shall not be unreasonably denied by the Employer. Such visits shall not interfere with or disturb employees in the performance of their work during working hours.
GUILD ACCESS. When reasonably required in the judgment of a Guild representative, including both local and national representatives, to administer the Agreement or to process a grievance, and upon presentation of an employee’s signed access authorization, AV will make available for review and furnish copies to the Guild representative all, or designated, materials in an individual employee’s personnel and/or accommodation file. Absent an employee’s authorization, the Guild representative shall be provided with personnel and/or accommodation file materials relevant to administering the Agreement or to processing a grievance, subject to any limitations imposed by law.
GUILD ACCESS. grievances and contract compliance, after notifying the Employer. Access for other purposes shall not be unreasonably denied by the Employer. Such visits shall not interfere with or disturb employees in the performance of their work during working hours.
GUILD ACCESS. Authorized agents of the Guild shall have access to the Employer’s establishment during working hours for the purpose of adjusting disputes, investigating working conditions, and ascertaining that the Agreement is being adhered to; provided however, that there is no undue interruption of the Employer’s working schedule.
GUILD ACCESS. The Employer recognizes the right of Guild representatives to meet with bargaining unit employees in the workplace. Such access shall be permitted without interference pursuant to the following guidelines:
(a) Guild representatives may access the Employer’s facility during business hours for the purpose of conducting union business, including confidential matters and unscheduled meetings with individuals and groups of employees. Visits for purposes of political campaigns, advocacy of issues unrelated to union business, or other purposes, are not permitted except in accordance with any policy that the Employer may issue as to non-union visitors, which need not be bargained.
(b) The Guild will comply with the Employer’s ordinary security protocols for entering Company facilities. Such protocols include entering through the main entrance, signing in with security and obtaining a security badge or ID, and having a Chronicle-employee escort into the building and any work areas in which bargaining unit Employees have workstations. Guild representatives will not enter the building in any other manner.
(c) Once inside the facility, the Guild’s access is not restricted. The Guild representatives will not disrupt production. Upon request, the Employer will provide the Guild meeting space, if space is available, at the facility for the purpose of conducting union business. Any group meetings need to be scheduled in advance through Human Resources.
(d) The Employee who escorted the Guild representative into the facility shall be responsible to ensure compliance with these terms. An Employee who permits the Guild representative to enter the building without checking in at the security desk may be disciplined; any such discipline will be subject to the grievance procedure.
(e) Any alleged violation of this Article by the Employer or the Guild shall be subject to the Grievance and Arbitration procedure outlined in Article VI, and notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement, neither Party shall have any right to refuse to arbitrate any dispute under this Article.
GUILD ACCESS. The Guild representative(s) designated in Section 7.1 will be allowed reasonable access to the worksite during regular working hours for the purpose of adjusting disputes, investigating working conditions, and monitoring compliance with this Agreement, provided, however, that the representative(s) must have advance permission (which shall not be unreasonably refused) from the Sheriff or their designee, must observe all of Employer’s security rules, and there must be no interruption of work or of employees who are or should be working.
