Common use of Guaranteed Admission Clause in Contracts

Guaranteed Admission. In recognition of Holy Spirit High School’s academically rigorous college preparatory curriculum that exceeds the minimum core requirements of a high school education and earns high college placement of its graduates, Georgian Court University (GCU) and Holy Spirit High School (HSHS) enter into this Guaranteed Admissions Agreement to facilitate the seamless enrollment of HSHS students to GCU upon earning their high school diploma. Under this agreement, HSHS students will be guaranteed admission into GCU as a full-­‐time matriculated student on the condition they: • graduate from HSHS with an earned high school diploma; • earn a minimum GPA of 2.50 or better (students with GPAs below 2.50 will be reviewed on an individual basis); • score 900 or better on the SAT (critical reading and math) or a 19 or better on the ACT (students with SAT scores below 900 or ACT scores below 19 will be reviewed on an individual basis); and • satisfy all other admissions application requirements. In accordance with the terms and condition of this Guaranteed Admissions Agreement, GCU will: • waive the undergraduate admission application fee; • provide on-­‐site personal admissions advisement for prospective students and parents; • provide on-­‐site general college search and financial aid workshops and presentations; and • award competitive academic and partnership scholarships to qualified HSHS students. Georgian Court University will provide institutional academic and merit scholarships to qualified Holy Spirit High School graduates. These scholarships are renewable for four years, provided the student remains a full-­‐time student and maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as defined by the University. When a scholarship is awarded, GCU will inform the student what the SAP requirements will be to ensure renewal. In accordance with the terms and condition of this agreement, GCU will award a combination of academic and merit scholarships for the 2017–2018 academic year based on the following guidelines. GCU understands that not all students will fall into the categories below; this chart is not inclusive of all academic and merit scholarships but is a sample of levels of scholarship. $76,000 Scholarship ($19,000 per year for four years) 3.50 HSHS GPA or better 1200 SAT/26 ACT or better $60,000 Scholarship ($15,000 per year for four years) 3.25 HSHS GPA or better 1100 SAT/24 ACT or better $52,000 Scholarship ($13,000 per year for four years) 3.00 HSHS GPA or better 1000 SAT/22 ACT or better OR 3.25 HSHS GPA or better 900 SAT/19 ACT or better $40,000 Scholarship ($10,000 per year for four years) 2.50 HSHS GPA or better 900 SAT/19 ACT or better OR 3.50 HSHS GPA or better 800 SAT/17 ACT or better Georgian Court University agrees to accept college credits earned by Holy Spirit High School students enrolled in the high school’s dual credit programs, provided that: • the course(s) are taught by colleges and universities that are regionally accredited by organizations recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; • the course(s) are recorded on the regionally accredited college or university’s official academic transcript; • the student earns a grade of C or better; and • the student enrolls at GCU as a degree-­‐seeking matriculated student.
