The GPS Receiver clause defines the requirements and responsibilities related to the use or provision of a GPS receiver within the context of an agreement. GPS Receiver. A GPS receiver and antenna suitable for meeting AIM system requirements shall be provided, configured, and installed in MTD buses and applicable service vehicles. It shall be designed for use with AVL applications and be of rugged design suitable for a transit environment. At MTD’s option, the GPS receiver may be the time source for all onboard AIM systems and devices, and for time-tagging all recorded events. Data output format shall use a documented, non-proprietary protocol. The GPS receiver shall meet or exceed the following standards: GPS Data Update Frequency: once per second GPS Accuracy with Other Sensors: 3 meters 65% of time; 10 meters 99.5% of time Velocity Accuracy: 0.1 meter per second Cold Start Acquisition Time: 4 minutes Warm Start Acquisition Time: 30 seconds Reacquisition Time: 2 seconds
