Geologic Map/Report Clause Samples

Geologic Map/Report. Consultant shall perform a site visit to complete a visual Condition (Distress) Survey of existing paved areas within the Project limits, to identify and map areas of pavement distress. Distressed areas identified include alligator cracking, depressions, potholes, and other loss of pavement sections. Consultant shall prepare photos along with written descriptions of the distressed areas and include them in the study. Concurrently, the areas where pavement coring and soil borings are to be performed shall be marked out in white paint and have their locations called in to USA Alert Underground Service Notification (USA) a minimum of 72-hours prior to any pavement coring or boring work commences. Consultant will perform a ReMi shear-wave-velocity survey to provide an approximate assessment of layers and depth to bedrock in the deeper soil layers. Consultant shall meet with County representatives and/or USA subscribers to verify the location of existing underground utilities and relocate proposed boring/coring locations as necessary. Consultant shall review the existence of observable obstacles to drilling. Consultant shall obtain TRPA and permission, County encroachment permit and County Environmental Health Department permit, as necessary. County will obtain permissions to enter from private property owners. The County and Consultant will work together to obtain the most recent site remediation information including monitoring results for the remediation site within the project area. Consultant shall measure pavement and base thickness by coring or cutting as part of drilling the parking lot borings. The cores shall be performed to measure the thickness of the existing pavement structural section (asphalt concrete and aggregate base types and thicknesses) and to acquire samples of the subgrade soils for visual identification and later laboratory testing. The pavement cores will be measured to map the existing asphalt pavement and base thicknesses (with the boring locations as well) so a minimum grinding plane can be established for the pavement reconstruction. Consultant shall provide (coning off) traffic control for all work within the roadway to perform the borings. It is estimated that 5 borings will be required to 15 feet depth, 3 within asphalt areas and 2 in landscaped areas. The site was previously remediated for TCE from a nearby drycleaners. A Health and Safety Plan (HASP) will be prepared for the drilling program. Level C PPE (with respirators avai...
