Functional Unit. Functional unit is defined by which appointing authority has or designates the responsibility to evaluate the employee’s performance by geographic area to which the employee is assigned.
Functional Unit. As mentioned previously, the functional unit is the reference in which all data of the life cycle assessment is expressed. The functional unit for the environmental analysis of the HAPPENING system will be taken as the total amount of energy generated and delivered (in kWh) to the building (by the HAPPENING system) for a reference study period of 50 years.

Functional Unit. It is defined as “quantified performance of a product system for use as a reference unit” (ISO 14040, 2006). The components of the Prefab kit, the Foldable one and the Wallpaper have different sizes and, probably, different life spans. In order to design and compare the three designed kits, the functional unit for the LCA study was determined to be the dimension of 3 m2 (1m long x 3 m high), the same one will be built up for the test facade. The material masses of each internal retrofitting kit (the flow chart) were calculated based on the designed details. The total material input of each kit for the functional unit was calculated by multiplying the individual mass of each component with required number to build a 3 m2 internal retrofitting system.
Functional Unit. The functional unit determines how results are presented and interpreted. While it will be usually possible to convert results into other units, it is still helpful to agree on common functional units. The proposal by IFEU and IUS was to base results on • 1 tonne of dry biomass (raw material basis) and • 1 ha of land (area basis). In the case of Task 7.3, all results can easily be expressed per tonne of dry biomass input since the input capacities are given. Since yields of the considered feedstocks vary widely between locations and since both primary feedstocks and residues as well as agricultural and forestry biomasses are taken into account, a conversion per ha of land has not been made. The social assessment using the sLCA will be oriented and expressed in functional units as far as possible, but it is not possible to do the assessment based on the functional units proposed above for all social indicators.

  • Remote Terminal Unit Prior to the Initial Synchronization Date of the Large Generating Facility, a Remote Terminal Unit, or equivalent data collection and transfer equipment acceptable to the Parties, shall be installed by Developer, or by Connecting Transmission Owner at Developer’s expense, to gather accumulated and instantaneous data to be telemetered to the location(s) designated by Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO through use of a dedicated point-to-point data circuit(s) as indicated in Article 8.1. The communication protocol for the data circuit(s) shall be specified by Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO. Instantaneous bi-directional analog real power and reactive power flow information must be telemetered directly to the location(s) specified by Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO. Each Party will promptly advise the appropriate other Party if it detects or otherwise learns of any metering, telemetry or communications equipment errors or malfunctions that require the attention and/or correction by that other Party. The Party owning such equipment shall correct such error or malfunction as soon as reasonably feasible.
