From Leave. Failure to return to work at the expiration of approved leave shall be considered as absence without leave and grounds for dismissal. This section should be subject to extenuating circumstances preventing timely return, as determined by the Superintendent.
From Leave. Provisions for reinstatement upon return from leave shall be as per section 8.9D.
From Leave. In the event that an Occasional Teacher's long-term assignment is interrupted due to illness or other leave, the original Occasional Teacher will continue that assignment, upon notifying the Principal. L904 PREGNANCY/PARENTAL LEAVE WITHOUT PAY (see also Article C10.2)
From Leave. Teachers on a full year leave will notify Human Resources by April 1 of their leave year as to whether they shall return, resign, or request an extension for the next school year. Teachers on extended leave due to disability shall submit medical verification of their fitness to return to full-time employment. All others returning from leave must notify the Human Resources at least two (2) weeks prior to their return.
From Leave. The University shall not be required to return an employee on a leave of absence for union business prior to the return date specified at the start of the leave.
From Leave. Salary: Upon return from leave granted pursuant to Sections 2, 5, 6 and 7 of this ARTICLE, an employee shall be placed on the salary schedule at the level he/she earned prior to taking the leave. An employee shall not receive increment credit for time spent on leave.
From Leave. An employee on a family leave as provided herein will be eligible to return to the same position he/she vacated prior to the leave. An employee may be required to provide a statement from a physician verifying that he/she is medically fit to return to work.
From Leave. Upon return from leave, the employee shall be placed in the same or a comparable position in the same pay classification as they were prior to the leave.
From Leave. Except as otherwise required by law, an employee who returns from a leave of absence in accordance with the terms of the approved leave date will be returned to the same position if the leave is for one hundred twenty (120) calendar days or less. An employee returning in accordance with the terms of an approved leave in excess of one hundred twenty (120) days will be returned to his/her position if it has not been permanently filled; otherwise (s)he will be assigned a vacant position as similar as is practicable to the one occupied prior to the leave of absence, and if no such employee vacancies exist as of the return date, the employee will be placed on lay off status. An employee returning from a medical disability leave, family/medical leave due to the employee's own disability, or Workers' Compensation leave, must provide the Human Resources Department with a clearance to resume duties from the employee's physician, as permitted by law, which clearance will be placed in the employee's health file.
From Leave. The Employer shall make every reasonable effort not to recall an employee to duty after the employee has proceeded on vacation leave.
