Formal Referrals. A. If an employee's pattern of work behavior indicates a problem is potentially related to substance abuse, the supervisor may contact the EAP and define issues.
B. The employee will be advised to go to the EAP for evaluation. Any participation in treatment is voluntary.
C. If the employee accepts treatment, the procedures for developing a plan and the payment of bills by the City are the same as for the person who self refers.
Formal Referrals. Management Consultation is available to Supervisors, Managers, and Administrative Personal with assistance in providing Formal Referrals for employees experiencing performance issues. The EAP counselor will provide assistance and guidance through the Formal Referral Process.
