Common use of Float Clause in Contracts

Float. All Float contained in the Project Schedule, as shown in the initial Project Baseline Schedule or as generated thereafter, shall be considered a Project resource available to either Party or both Parties as needed to absorb delays caused by any event, achieve schedule milestones, interim completion dates and/or Completion Deadlines. All Float shall be shown as such in the Project Schedule on each affected schedule path. TxDOT shall have the right to examine the identification of (or failure to identify) Float on the schedule in determining whether to approve the Project Schedule. Once identified, DB Contractor shall monitor, account for and maintain Float in accordance with critical path methodology.
