Fire Weather Services Sample Clauses
Fire Weather Services. 4.1 The parties acknowledge the following, which provides context to this clause 4:
(1) The Bureau has historical and statutory responsibility for the issue of warnings of weather conditions likely to endanger life or property, including weather conditions likely to give rise to ▇▇▇▇ fires.
(2) The responsibility for ▇▇▇▇ fire preparation, response and warnings of ▇▇▇▇ fires lies with State and Territory governments and local governments. This includes the determination of Fire Danger Ratings using a range of criteria incorporating forecast weather provided by the Bureau.
4.2 Having regard to the context set out in clause 4.1, the parties agree:
(1) that the Bureau has the responsibility for provision of forecasting and warning services for weather conditions likely to give rise to ▇▇▇▇ fires in all jurisdictions in Australia;
(2) that to support the Bureau, the States and Territories will provide the Bureau with relevant information that is in their possession or control and required by the Bureau in order to discharge the Bureau’s responsibilities; and
(3) to work together to mutually develop and maintain national standards for warnings of ▇▇▇▇ fires and Fire Danger Ratings subject to clause 4.1(2).
4.3 Specialised Services are provided by the Bureau to Emergency Service Agencies. These Services generally provide detailed technical information to assist these organisations in planning disaster mitigation strategies. The Standard Services and Supplementary Services relating to Fire Weather are delineated Schedule 2of this Agreement.
