FINAL THESIS. 6.1 As it has been already established in the Agreement, in addition to the term papers at both institutions, the students enrolled in the programme shall be required to write the final thesis. 6.2 The final theses written during the DDP shall be jointly supervised by both institutions. Consequently, the students shall choose the main and the second supervisor, appointed jointly by both institutions. 6.3 The outcome of the final project might take the form of a written academic paper in English (thesis). A thesis must always include a brief summary of at least 1 page as an abstract in English. The thesis should be defended in English and in accordance with the regulations prevailing at partner institution. A copy of the thesis shall be sent to the partner institution and included into the student’s file. 6.4 The management process of the final thesis defence should meet all legal and academic constraints of both institutions. However, this process shall be adjusted as much as possible in order to avoid unnecessary inconveniencies for the students. 6.5 In addition, after defending final thesis NKSU students must take State Attestation in Kazakhstan. Only after successful attestation DDP students can get NKSU Master of Ecology diploma.

Both Parties shall ensure legal and organizational pre-conditions necessary for students enrolled in the DDP to start their final thesis no later than 7"’ semester of Bachelor’s studies. 6.3. The final thesis written during the DDP shall be jointly supervised by both Parties. The outcome of the final thesis might take the form of a written academic paper in English (thesis). A thesis must always include a brief summary of at least 1 (one) page as an abstract in English. The thesis should be defended in English and in accordance with the regulations prevailing at the Party, chosen for the defence of the final thesis. A copy of the thesis shall be sent to the other Party and included into the student’s file. 6.5. The management process of the final thesis defence should meet all legal and academic constraints of both Parties. However, this process shall be adjusted as much as possible to avoid unnecessary inconveniencies for the students.
FINAL THESIS. The final thesis shall be co-supervised by professors of both institutions in agreement with the rules and regulations of both institutions. The thesis may be written and defended at the University of Trento or at the KIT. The thesis must be written and defended in English, unless otherwise agreed with the supervisors, and must include a summary written in both languages (German and Italian) and in English. The final examination shall be carried out according to the degree course regulations of the host institution. The final thesis may be defended only after the study programme has been completed and approved by both institutions. The host institution shall provide the partner university with all the necessary documentation for the award of its own degree title. The thesis committee may include a member from the partner institution.
FINAL THESIS. With the purpose of strengthening the scientific cooperation between both institutions, the Final Thesis will address, whenever possible, problems in areas of common interest to the two institutions. The Final Thesis must be an original contribution, written in English. The development of the Final Thesis will be carried out during the period of time spent by the student in the Host Institution and supervised by one of its official lecturers. At the end of the thesis project, oral defense of the Final Thesis shall be conducted, with a single examination performed in English whose outcome and validity will be fully recognised by both institutions, in front of a Thesis Committee including at least one member from each institution; committee members may participate through videoconference. External personnel from outside the two institutions may be invited by the committee with advisory roles. The composition of the committee will comply with the rules of both institutions and must be approved by both institutions. The defense of the final thesis will be organized by and taking place within the Host Institution. The procedures for the oral defense will be according to the regulations of this institution. The Home Institution will recognize the outcome of the defense and insert each graduating student in its records with proper adaptation, noting the thesis has been defended in the Host Institution.
