Fee Remission. X. Xx ASE who is a registered graduate student with ASE appointment(s) or other eligible academic appointments totaling 25% or more of full-time for a given term is eligible to participate in the University’s Partial Fee Remission Program for the Educational and Registration Fees. An ASE is eligible to receive only one Graduate Student Partial Fee Remission per term.

Fee Remission. The general fee and the instructional fee shall be waived for Faculty and eligible Faculty members' spouses/domestic partners and also for dependent children to age 28 for members of the bargaining unit whose appointment began prior to August 2005. For Faculty appointments beginning with AY 2005-06, the general fee and the instructional fee shall be waived for eligible Faculty members' spouses and also for dependent children to age 25. Overall eligibility requirements will not be greater than those specified in the University's revised Administrative Policy Regarding Tuition Benefits published at 3342-6-09.1 of the University Policy Register, as it may be amended from time to time.
Fee Remission. Except for online instruction provided by Academic Partnership or any successor, dependent children and spouses of bargaining unit members shall be granted remission for instructional fees at YSU, including out-of-state instructional fees where applicable. “Dependent children” are the biological children, legally adopted children or step-children of a bargaining unit employee. Bargaining unit employees must provide any information requested by the University such as copies of marriage licenses, birth certificates and certificates of adoption to assist the University in determining that the child or spouse is eligible for tuition remission. Bargaining unit employees must also properly complete the University’s application/affidavit in order to receive tuition remission. Dependent children shall be eligible for remission to the end of the academic year of age twenty- five (25). Bargaining unit members shall receive remission of instructional and general fees at YSU, including out-of-state fees where applicable, for up to eighteen (18) semester hours per academic year and six (6) semester hours each summer semester. Courses may not be taken at times which conflict with assigned duties. Except for online instruction provided by Academic Partnership or any successor, remission of the general fee shall be granted to members of the bargaining unit only. The restriction of six (6) credit hours shall not apply to courses taken at YSU as part of a Staff Development Leave granted under the provisions of Article 6. Effective July 1, 2022, employees, spouses and dependent children shall pay for twenty percent (20%) of the cost of online instruction provided by Academic Partnership. Bargaining unit members who retire during the term of this Agreement shall continue to be eligible for the fee remission described above, and their spouses and dependent children shall continue to be eligible for remission of instructional fees. The dependents of any bargaining unit member who dies during the term of this Agreement shall continue to be eligible for fee remission as described above, to include remission of instructional and general fees, until dependent children reach the end of the academic year of age twenty-five (25) and as long as the surviving spouse remains unmarried.
Fee Remission. Graduate Employees appointed at a minimum 0.2 FTE, until September 2017 when the minimum FTE will become 0.3, will have 90% of mandatory fees, as defined in the Academic Year Fee Book, remitted each term, including Summer. If the building, bad debt, and contingency fees exceed 10% of all mandatory fees, the University agrees to remit the total amount of all other mandatory fees. The one-time Matriculation Fee and International Student Orientation Fee shall also be remitted. Graduate Employees appointed at a minimum 0.2 FTE, until September 2017 when the minimum FTE will become 0.3, will have 100% of the E-Campus distance education fee remitted each term, including Summer.

Fee Remission a. Fees associated with Employer offered courses that are both approved as to Tuition Remission Program eligible and limited to those courses, that are tuition free, shall be waived, for bargaining unit employees, by the Employer, in content and credit quantity for the term of this Agreement only, subject to such restrictions as placed on that tuition remission available to bargaining unit employees.

Fee Remission. Graduate Assistants will receive a remission of mandatory student fees during the academic year, not including Summer Session, as follows. Employing units reserve the right to grant a fee remission greater than the amounts listed below but not to exceed 100% of mandatory fees. GA Responsibility: During the period September 16, 2018 through September 15, 2019, 55% of mandatory fees, including but not limited to, the Building Fee, Incidental Fee, Health Service Fee, and Academic Student Recreation Center Fee. All other Fines, Fees and Charges will be enacted as in the University’s Board of Trustees Tuition, Fees & Fines Policy.
