Faculty Work Space Sample Clauses
The Faculty Work Space clause defines the employer's obligation to provide appropriate office or work space for faculty members. Typically, this clause outlines the standards for such spaces, including privacy, access to necessary equipment, and maintenance, and may specify whether the space is shared or private. By setting clear expectations for work environments, the clause ensures faculty have the resources needed to perform their duties effectively and helps prevent disputes over inadequate or unsuitable work accommodations.
Faculty Work Space. A. An enclosed room appropriately furnished shall be solely designated as a faculty work area. Bargaining unit members shall be permitted to have coffee- making, soft drinks, and other types of food dispensers in this area. Any related expenses will be borne by the faculty of each building. The types of machines, numbers of machines, and locations of machines, shall be determined by the principal and the Association building representative in each building. If a disagreement arises, a staff vote will be the determining factor.
B. The decision of the staff will determine the spending of profits under this section.
C. A reserved or separate lunch area shall be provided for the bargaining unit members. Whenever possible, classrooms used as student lunchrooms shall be cleaned by the custodial staff following the lunch period.
D. Resource material shall be available to all bargaining unit members.
E. Each school shall have ample parking facilities accessible to the school for the use of the staff during working hours. These facilities shall be maintained and in a safe condition.
F. Each classroom teacher shall be provided with a desk or file cabinet and a chair for his/her use at his/her home base. Every effort will be made to continue to provide a file cabinet for each classroom teacher.
G. Secure, adequate storage facilities in which classroom teachers may store instructional supplies shall be provided.
H. Special subject area teachers shall be provided adequate, secure storage facilities in each building.
Faculty Work Space. The College shall provide secondary faculty work space. The ▇▇▇▇ will identify adequate work spaces for faculty use, with adequate and appropriate lockable storage. Each individual work space shall be properly maintained, lighted, ventilated and shall include: a chair and a desk with a lockable drawer, a lockable filing cabinet, adequate shelving for books, internet access, and ready access to a telephone.
