Endeavour. I will encourage myself to: ● Always apply 100% effort in class and bookwork. ● Rise to the challenges that Xxxx’x sets for me ● Always aim to improve my levels of achievement. ● Ask for help on my homework well in advance of the deadline if I need support. The academy operates a ZERO EXCLUSION STRATEGY. In order to implement this strategy, we require full parental cooperation in the following areas: ● Parents are required to support our behaviour policy by agreeing to all sanctions. This includes same day detentions, weekend and holiday time detentions. ● The academy has the right to search a student for any contraband. ● The academy operates a policy of compulsory drug testing if suspicion is raised that a child has engaged in substance misuse. ● School will contact the police or remove the child from the premises if substance misuse is suspected. In this is the case, a referral to social services and safeguarding will be made. ● The academy will arrange intervention for any student suspected of taking illegal substances. This intervention must be attended by both student and parent. The academy does not tolerate the following behaviours ● Damage to property, this includes graffiti, vandalism and ICT equipment. ● Anti-social behaviour during school or out of school hours. This includes fighting, smoking, E-cigarettes, alcohol or any other illegal or prohibited substances on or near the premises. ● Intimidating or threating behaviour towards staff, students, or any member of the public. ● Refusal of a direct instruction issued by a member of staff or parent. ● Arguing back and repeated low-level disruption to the learning of others If a student repeatedly breaks the rules, the academy can and will make provision for them to be educated elsewhere within the Multi Academy Trust. Referral to external provision will be guided by Governors. This will result in the child being directed to attend our referral unit at King’s Liverpool in Dingle Vale, which is part of the Great Schools Trust. Transport to this venue will not be provided by King’s Warrington or the Trust. Endeavour.  We will hold parent meetings at least twice a year and issue attainment reports at regular intervals.  We will make sure that pupils and parents will be able to contact the school and will reply to all communications from parents as soon as possible, usually within 48 hours.  We will collect homework, and if it is not complete, we will contact parents the same day to inform them that their child will be staying to catch up their homework that evening.  We will constantly strive to become better educators.  We will model and read with your child every day for 30 minutes. Endeavour.  I will arrive at school by 8.25am every day.  I will always work, think, and behave in the best way, and I will go the extra mile for my Houstone peers and me to learn.  I will raise my hand and ask questions in class if I do not understand something.  I will remain after school for Extended Prep on any day that my homework is not neat and complete or if I hand in my homework late.  I will discuss any problems I am having at school with my parents and teachers.  I will read every day for at least 30 minutes. Respect:  I will wear correct uniform smartly every day.  I will hand in my mobile phone every day, switched off and understand that they will be confiscated if they are seen or heard anywhere on school premises.  I agree to abide by the school code of conduct and understand there will be consequences if I fail to do so.  I will always treat everyone at Houstone School with respect. I will always listen to and care for my Houstone peers.  I am responsible for my own behaviour, including my behaviour outside the school gates and times, even when not in uniform - the same rules apply at all times of the day because I now represent our school.  I will not bring any banned items to school and understand there will be consequences if I do.  I will display the school values through all my actions every day.  I will make sure that my parent/carer does not drop me off outside the school entrance, and only uses the designated drop off points on the far side of the leisure centre.  I will ensure my child takes part in sports and physical activities and allow them to go on school field and residential trips.  I understand that my child will have homework set regularly, including weekends, and that the expectations of time allocated to do it will increase in length as they progress through the school. It is my responsibility to see that homework is completed.  I understand if homework is not completed my child will have to attend after school Extended Prep, usually on the same day, which will last 30 minutes.
Endeavour.  I will ensure my child arrives in school by 8.25am every day and that their attendance will not fall below 97%.  I will not plan for family holidays or other extended absences during term time.  I will make certain that my child attends school every day, except in cases of illness or another legitimate reason.  If my child is absent, I will telephone the school before 8:15 a.m. on the day of the absence to report why my child is absent.  I will make sure my child wears the full school and bring all their equipment to school daily and violations may result in my child being sent home to collect the items or us bringing the proper items to school.  I will never drop my child off outside of the school entrance and will only use the designated drop off points on the far side of the leisure centre. Respect:  I will always make myself available to the school by providing up-to-date contact details and will communicate in a timely and polite manner, in line with the school’s values.  I understand that the school and parents need to work together, and I will not undermine decisions made by the school in front of my child to ensure consistency of messaging is maintained.  I will read all reports carefully, attend all parent meetings and sign my child’s planner each weekend.  I have understood the Houstone School values and will support the school’s consequences for misbehaviour.  I understand that detentions usually happen on the day that they are given, and that the standard detention will last 30 minutes, and until 6pm for serious breaches of the code of conduct.  I understand that my child cannot be excused from detention for any reason.  I will ensure my child does not bring any banned items to school.

  • Reasonable Efforts Upon the terms and subject to the conditions set forth in this Agreement, each of the parties agrees to use its commercially reasonable efforts to take, or cause to be taken, all actions, and to do, or cause to be done, and to assist and cooperate with the other parties in doing, all things necessary, proper or advisable to consummate and make effective, in the most expeditious manner practicable, the Merger and the other transactions contemplated by this Agreement, including using commercially reasonable efforts to accomplish the following: (i) the taking of all reasonable acts necessary to cause the conditions precedent set forth in Article VI to be satisfied, (ii) the obtaining of all necessary actions, waivers, consents, approvals, orders and authorizations from Governmental Entities and the making of all necessary registrations, declarations and filings (including registrations, declarations and filings with Governmental Entities, if any) and the taking of all reasonable steps as may be necessary to avoid any suit, claim, action, investigation or proceeding by any Governmental Entity, (iii) the obtaining of all consents, approvals or waivers from third parties required as a result of the transactions contemplated in this Agreement, (iv) the defending of any suits, claims, actions, investigations or proceedings, whether judicial or administrative, challenging this Agreement or the consummation of the transactions contemplated hereby, including seeking to have any stay or temporary restraining order entered by any court or other Governmental Entity vacated or reversed and (v) the execution or delivery of any additional instruments reasonably necessary to consummate the transactions contemplated by, and to fully carry out the purposes of, this Agreement. In connection with and without limiting the foregoing, Parent and its board of directors and the Company and its board of directors shall, if any state takeover statute or similar statute or regulation is or becomes applicable to the Merger, this Agreement or any of the transactions contemplated by this Agreement, use its commercially reasonable efforts to enable the Merger and the other transactions contemplated by this Agreement to be consummated as promptly as practicable on the terms contemplated by this Agreement. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to require Parent or the Company to agree to any divestiture by itself or any of its affiliates of shares of capital stock or of any business, assets or property, or the imposition of any material limitation on the ability of any of them to conduct their business or to own or exercise control of such assets, properties and stock.
