The 'Employee couple' clause defines how an organization manages situations where two employees are married or in a domestic partnership. Typically, this clause outlines any restrictions or special considerations regarding their employment, such as prohibiting one spouse from supervising the other or both working in the same department to avoid conflicts of interest. Its core function is to prevent favoritism, conflicts of interest, or workplace disruptions that could arise from personal relationships between employees.

Employee couple. Concurrent leave (a) Two employees covered by this agreement may take up to eight weeks’ concurrent leave in connection with the birth or adoption of their child. (b) Concurrent leave may commence one week prior to the expected date of birth of the child or the time of placement in the case of adoption. (c) Concurrent leave can be taken in separate periods, but each block of concurrent leave must not be less than 2 weeks, unless the employer otherwise agrees.

Employee couple. Where both parents are employed by ▇▇▇▇▇ AS Pty Ltd and both parents intend to spend a period as the primary carer, they may agree to share the paid entitlement of their parental leave. The parent who is the primary carer of the child will be entitled to a further period of leave without pay up to an aggregate of fifty-two (52) weeks which must be taken within fifty-two (52) weeks from the birth or placement of the child.
