Emergency Absence. 01. In the event of sudden illness, accident or other emergency, an employee absenting himself must send notification to his supervisor as soon as possible and bonafide cases of emergency will be treated as if permission had been sought in advance. 02. Following notification that an employee is serv- ing a sentence under the law, the case will be dealt with as if the employee had asked for permission in advance and the Company and the Union will endeavour to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement on what action should be taken.
