Common use of Embargo Periods Clause in Contracts

Embargo Periods. THE CARRIER shall not transport baggage with excess weight, oversized baggage, additional pieces, perishable food, boxes and packages or packaging of irregular shape during the following periods: (i) On flights originating in the United States, from July 1 to August 31, and from December 1 to January 31. Only free allowed baggage pieces shall be accepted. (ii) On flights between the United States and Brazil, from May 1 to May 31. Only free allowed baggage pieces shall be accepted. (iii) On flights originating from and with destination to cities in Brazil, from July 1 to August 31, and from December 1 to February 28. Only free allowed baggage pieces shall be accepted. (iv) On flights originating in Panama, from July 1 to August 31, and from December 1 to January 31. One piece or plastic- wrapped box in addition to the allowed baggage shall be accepted, paying applicable excess baggage fees. Exception: to cities in Brazil, where only free allowed baggage pieces shall be accepted. (v) On flights originating in cities in Argentina, from October 1 to January 31. One piece or plastic-wrapped box in addition to the allowed baggage shall be accepted, paying applicable excess baggage fees. (vi) On flights originating in cities in Ecuador and Peru to Havana, from June 1 to September 30, and from December 1 to February 28. Only free allowed baggage pieces shall be accepted. (vii) On flights originating in Canada, from December 1 to January 31. Only free allowed baggage pieces shall be accepted. During these restricted periods THE CARRIER shall not transport perishable food checked in the aircraft’s cargo compartment to any destination where it operates.
