Eligible Training. Education Reimbursement‌ a) Ornge is committed to work environment that encourages continuous learning as means of maintaining a competent workforce which provides a high standard of service. Ornge is also committed to ensuring that employees have opportunities to upgrade their knowledge and skills so they can perform their jobs effectively. In support of this objective, Ornge provides tuition assistance to employees who wish to improve their competencies. b) This policy is applicable to all full-time employees with one year’s continuous service at Ornge.
Eligible Training. A. The EWT must not be in employment that is seasonal, intermittent, or temporary. B. The training must be for employees in full-time employment. Full-time is defined as a minimum of 30 hours per week. C. Training must develop an employee’s occupational skills. Skills must contribute to the organization’s ability to compete in the marketplace; or if the organization is a non-profit or a public agency, to effectively deliver the services expected by the organization’s constituents. The training should also improve the opportunities for the employees trained to keep their jobs, advance within the company, receive a wage increase and gain additional skills. D. Stand-alone leadership training, conferences or attending a conference are not eligible. E. Employed worker training should lead to an industry recognized credential or certificate for each individual’s successful completion.
