Educational Credit. Employees who take approved educational course work during unpaid time after June 30, 2008 in the amounts required herein shall qualify for the increments stated below. It is intended that qualifying educational course work provide for job related professional development. In order for the educational course work to qualify for this program it must have written approval in advance by the Human Resources Division and the employee must successfully complete each course and have an attendance of not less than 90%. The employee shall furnish a certificate of completion or official transcript(s) to the District. Educational credit will not pertain to in-service training as provided in D-5.1. The holidays are: New Year’s Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx.’s Birthday, Presidents’ Day in February, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, and Christmas Day. The school district calendar, as determined by the Board of Education, will include nine (9) holidays from those noted in this provision. Whenever any of the above listed National holidays shall fall on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday. Whenever the above listed National holiday shall fall on a Sunday, the succeeding Monday shall be observed as the holiday. If a qualified employee is requested to work on an observed holiday as defined above, such as Veteran’s Day, due to school being in session: ● the employee will be paid for hours worked on the holiday and ● the employee will receive the equivalent of the average hours worked per day, based on FTE, as Annual Leave hours to be added to the total Annual Leave hours accrued by that employee In order to qualify and receive holiday pay, employees must be scheduled to work twenty (20) hours or more pre week and must work or be on paid leave, their scheduled day before and their scheduled day after the holiday. An exception to this rule would be if school ends prior to Memorial Day, an employee who finished out the school year with pay will receive the holiday pay. Educational Credit. Where educational requirements are necessary to qualify for a position in Civil Service, credits from an educational institution other than colleges and universities shall be accepted when the educational institution is approved according to mutually agreed upon criteria.
Educational Credit. It is understood and agreed that the following educational degrees must be completed prior to the posting closing date for the percentage points to be applied to their passing final score: Bachelor’s Degree .5 percentage points Master’s Degree 1.0 percentage points In order to receive the additional points for education, the required documents must be provided at time of application, as required on the posting. This paragraph shall be enforced for all promotional lists that will be created, and no points will be added to the scores of the current promotional lists. A regular full-time firefighter in Pay Grade 402B, 403A, 403B, 403C, 405B, 406A, 406B or 406C may utilize certain college degrees or certificates earned in Fire Science, Fire Administration or Fire and Industrial Safety Technology, or a related field, in lieu of actual service to meet minimum service requirements for advancement within the rank of regular full-time firefighter. A Certificate of Fire Science Technology will equal nine (9) months of service; an Associate Degree in Fire Science Technology will equal one (1) year of service; A Baccalaureate Degree in Fire and Industrial Safety Technology, Fire Administration or similar field will equal eighteen (18) months of service. In no case shall a regular full- time firefighter receive more than a total of two (2) years service credit nor shall he receive credit for more than one college certificate or degree in the substitution of educational achievement for actual service. Educational Credit. Any employee who subsequently receives a Master’s degree in a field/course of study approved by the Superintendent as relative to his/her current position, shall be afforded an educational credit of one dollar ($1.00) per hour, not to exceed the maximum rate.
Educational Credit. As consideration for Intern’s services, Operator reasonably shall cooperate with Intern and Intern’s school regarding requirements for academic credit, including reporting requirements; provided that Operator’s obligation under this section shall be subject to the confidentiality requirements set forth in Section 8 below.
Educational Credit. 32 1. One (1) point per semester unit for Committee-approved accredited college, 33 junior college, trade school, or adult education classes.
34 2. When semester unit credit is not specified, fifteen (15) hours of class time = one 35 (1) point; seven (7) hours = one-half (1/2) point; four (4) hours = one-third 36 (1/3) point.
37 3. Courses taken from accredited correspondence schools will be accepted and 38 prorated according to semester hours of credit allowed for the course.
39 4. No unit member shall receive credit for classes attended during the working day 40 if s/he is being paid for his/her regular services.
41 5. In evaluating coursework or activities submitted by an individual, the 42 Committee will consider the extent to which the course or activity improves the 43 individual’s ability to contribute to the District’s purpose of educating its 44 students.
Educational Credit. Credit shall be given for achieving the following educational standards:
(a) One (1) point for thirty (30) college semester hours or one (1) completed military enlistment;
(b) Two (2) points for an associate’s degree;
(c) Three (3) points for a bachelor’s degree; and
(d) Four (4) points for a master’s degree or higher. To obtain the educational credit, it will be the employee’s responsibility to provide proof of degree or hours to the Director of Human Resources in the form of a college transcript. Educational credit shall not exceed four (4) points. Military enlistment shall be the responsibility of the employee to provide proof of honorable discharge or DD214.
Educational Credit. 1. An employee shall receive the following added to her base salary upon completion of each of the following Professional Standards level: $100--Basic, $100--Advanced & $200-- Certified Educational Office Employee. Proof of completion must be presented to the Office of Human Resources.
Educational Credit a. Salary placement credit may be approved by the Executive Director for course work including non‐ credit workshops, courses, and clinics approved for Continuing Education Unit credit by an appropriate professional organization. The formula for conversion of such workshop clock hours for application to salary placement shall be: Workshop clock hours/30 equals 1 semester hour. The Executive Director may convene a committee composed of 2 members from the Union and 2 members from the Agency to review requests for Continuing Education credit and make recommendations to the Executive Director.
b. One quarter hour equals 2/3 semester hours for the purpose of this section.
c. Horizontal movement shall occur when transcripts have been submitted in addition to normal vertical movement as described above. All official transcripts of course work must be received by the Agency not later than September 30th of the year in which horizontal movement is to occur. The salary adjustment for a new placement shall be effective not earlier than the documented date of completion of the qualifying credit(s). Upon horizontal movement, up to one step of vertical movement shall be credited.
