Educational Credit. Employees who take approved educational course work during unpaid time after June 30, 2008 in the amounts required herein shall qualify for the increments stated below. It is intended that qualifying educational course work provide for job related professional development. In order for the educational course work to qualify for this program it must have written approval in advance by the Human Resources Division and the employee must successfully complete each course and have an attendance of not less than 90%. The employee shall furnish a certificate of completion or official transcript(s) to the District. Educational credit will not pertain to in-service training as provided in D-5.1. The holidays are: New Year’s Day, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇, ▇▇.’s Birthday, Presidents’ Day in February, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, and Christmas Day. The school district calendar, as determined by the Board of Education, will include nine (9) holidays from those noted in this provision. Whenever any of the above listed National holidays shall fall on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday. Whenever the above listed National holiday shall fall on a Sunday, the succeeding Monday shall be observed as the holiday. If a qualified employee is requested to work on an observed holiday as defined above, such as Veteran’s Day, due to school being in session: ● the employee will be paid for hours worked on the holiday and ● the employee will receive the equivalent of the average hours worked per day, based on FTE, as Annual Leave hours to be added to the total Annual Leave hours accrued by that employee In order to qualify and receive holiday pay, employees must be scheduled to work twenty (20) hours or more pre week and must work or be on paid leave, their scheduled day before and their scheduled day after the holiday. An exception to this rule would be if school ends prior to Memorial Day, an employee who finished out the school year with pay will receive the holiday pay. Educational Credit. Where educational requirements are necessary to qualify for a position in Civil Service, credits from an educational institution other than colleges and universities shall be accepted when the educational institution is approved according to mutually agreed upon criteria.
Educational Credit. It is understood and agreed that the following educational degrees must be completed prior to the posting closing date for the percentage points to be applied to their passing final score: Bachelor’s Degree .5 percentage points Master’s Degree 1.0 percentage points In order to receive the additional points for education, the required documents must be provided at time of application, as required on the posting. This paragraph shall be enforced for all promotional lists that will be created, and no points will be added to the scores of the current promotional lists. Bargaining unit members are eligible to receive both educational credit and years of service credit.

A Certificate of Fire Science Technology will equal nine (9) months of service; an Associate Degree in Fire Science Technology will equal one (1) year of service; A Baccalaureate Degree in Fire and Industrial Safety Technology, Fire Administration or similar field will equal eighteen (18) months of service. In no case shall a regular full- time firefighter receive more than a total of two (2) years service credit nor shall he receive credit for more than one college certificate or degree in the substitution of educational achievement for actual service. Educational Credit.
26.1.1. Effective with promotional examinations announced on or after May 21, 2018, all college degrees from accredited colleges and universities will be eligible for promotional points, regardless of the major. For the purpose of all promotional examinations announced after the date the Award is issued, the City will grant 1/2 a point for any Associate' Degree, 1 point for any bachelor’s degree, and 1.5 points for any Master's Degree. (Award 2017-2020)
Educational Credit. As consideration for Intern’s services, Operator reasonably shall cooperate with Intern and Intern’s school regarding requirements for academic credit, including reporting requirements; provided that Operator’s obligation under this section shall be subject to the confidentiality requirements set forth in Section 8 below.
Educational Credit. Credit shall be given for achieving the following educational standards:
(a) One (1) point for thirty (30) college semester hours or one (1) completed military enlistment;
(b) Two (2) points for an associate’s degree;
(c) Three (3) points for a bachelor’s degree; and
(d) Four (4) points for a master’s degree or higher. To obtain the educational credit, it will be the employee’s responsibility to provide proof of degree or hours to the Director of Human Resources in the form of a college transcript. Educational credit shall not exceed four (4) points. Military enlistment shall be the responsibility of the employee to provide proof of honorable discharge or DD214.
Educational Credit. 32 1. One (1) point per semester unit for Committee-approved accredited college, 33 junior college, trade school, or adult education classes.
34 2. When semester unit credit is not specified, fifteen (15) hours of class time = one 35 (1) point; seven (7) hours = one-half (1/2) point; four (4) hours = one-third 36 (1/3) point.
37 3. Courses taken from accredited correspondence schools will be accepted and 38 prorated according to semester hours of credit allowed for the course.
39 4. No unit member shall receive credit for classes attended during the working day 40 if s/he is being paid for his/her regular services.
41 5. In evaluating coursework or activities submitted by an individual, the 42 Committee will consider the extent to which the course or activity improves the 43 individual’s ability to contribute to the District’s purpose of educating its 44 students.
Educational Credit. 12.2.1.1 At such time that the State of Oregon requires completion of a “5th year” program for licensure, new professional educators shall be given credit for the hours required following the Bachelor’s degree for completion of a “5th year” program up to a maximum of forty-five (45) quarter hours. Currently employed professional educators, who have completed a “5th year” program but were not given credit at the time of employment, shall be given credit on the salary schedule up to the BA+45 column.
12.2.1.2 Vocational professional educators may receive credit for technical coursework taken at a community college. Such courses shall be relevant to the professional educator’s field of preparation and to service as a professional educator in this District.
12.2.1.3 In order to receive a salary adjustment retroactive to the beginning of the current school year, a professional educator must, by October 31st, provide the Human Resources Department with proof of completion of coursework. Adjustments based upon proof received after October 31st will be made effective the first day of the next pay period. second month following the month received.
12.2.1.4 A Master’s degree earned prior to licensure will be counted for placement on the MA+0 column. No other graduate credits earned prior to licensure will count for salary placement. Multiple Graduate Degrees and Graduate Credits
a. Educational experience (lane advancement) shall be granted for any fully completed graduate degree (MA, MFA, JD, PHD, etc., regardless of date of licensure.
b. Column salary credit (lane advancement) will not be limited to a single graduate degree.
c. Educational experience would be based on the order the graduate degrees were earned. The first graduate degree earned would advance the professional educator to the MA lane. The second graduate degree earned would count as graduate credits beyond the MA+0 lane.
d. No graduate credits prior to licensure shall be credited towards lane advancement unless/until they become part of a completed graduate degree.
e. Graduate credits earned outside of a degree program are eligible for salary advancement, as long as they are earned after licensure and are consistent with the requirements in the In-Service Guidelines
