Ecotones. Management of the boundary between vegetation features can provide important habitats for wildlife. These features are usually woodlands or treebelts, grasslands or wetlands. Leave a strip of grassland uncut between features, as specified on contract map. Width as specified. If the Supervising Officer decides there is a need to control undesirable ruderal vegetation, the Contractor will be instructed to rough-cut the area. This work will usually be undertaken either in February or September (SOR)
