Duration of Temporary Assignments Employee Work Terms. No temporary assignment will last longer than one year. The start and finish dates of this assignment will be agreed to before the start, and will be noted in an Individual Agreement to be signed by the individual accepting the temporary assignment. If the temporary assignment duration as noted in that Individual Agreement is less than a year, it may be extended by mutual agreement of the Union and the Company, but in no case will an assignment be longer than a year. A temporary assignment will end with written notice, and another temporary assignment by the same individual in the same business, which extends the total of the assignment duration past one year, will not begin without the consent of the Union. Otherwise, if the assignment(s) is longer than a year, the job will be posted and filled per the rules of the Agreement. Temporary assignments by the same individual in different businesses will be considered different temporary assignments, and can be consecutive, and the total of the durations may exceed one year, if this is mutually agreed by the Union and the Company.
