DUAL CONNECTION - SHADOW ACCESS Clause Samples

DUAL CONNECTION - SHADOW ACCESS. SINGLE CPE. This contingency option allows for Service continuity when failure occurs on any of the following: • The local loop between User Site Location and Equant access node; • The TO modem; • The Equant PoP; and • Some routing failure on the primary path in the IP core Network. Equant provides a secondary access via Tail Circuit and IP VPN plug that has the same characteristics as the primary access in terms of Tail Circuit Bandwidth, IP bandwidth, and Service type. This secondary access is connected to a single CE configured with 2 WAN ports to allow a dual Tail Circuit connection. During ordinary functioning of the IP VPN, the secondary access is always available, but not used. In case of failure of the primary access, the CE router automatically detects the failure and routes all traffic through the secondary access. The contingency option has the following characteristics: access); goes through the primary circuit. When the primary path fails because one of the elements on that path fails, the secondary path is used instead to support 100% of the traffic. Traffic will be switched back to the primary path when it becomes operational again; primary and the secondary links are similar in size and COS-configured.
DUAL CONNECTION - SHADOW ACCESS. DUAL CPE. Under this contingency option, the primary router is secured by the secondary router. In this case, the secondary router supports the secondary connection. This contingency option allows for Service continuity when failure occurs on any of the following: • The local loop between the User Site and Equant access node; • The TO modem; • The Equant PoP; • The remote CE router; and • Some routing failure on the primary path in the IP core Network. Equant provides a secondary access (Access Line and IP VPN plug) and a secondary router, which has the same characteristics as the primary access, in terms of the Access Line Bandwidth, IP bandwidth, service type, and the primary CE router. The secondary access is connected to the secondary CE router and the secondary PE router at a different PoP. During ordinary operation, the secondary access and router are always available but are not used. In case of failure of the primary access or the primary router, the secondary CE router automatically detects the failure and routes all traffic through the secondary access. The service offers the following main characteristics: access); goes through the primary circuit. When the primary path fails, because one of the elements on that path fails, the secondary path is used instead to support 100% of the traffic. Traffic will be switched back to the primary path when it becomes operational again; router, both primary and secondary router having the same status ‘operational/fail’ at the same time; primary and the secondary links are similarly sized and similarly COS configured
