Driving Allowance. (a) A driving allowance will be paid as amended by the Board from time to time but shall not be less than fifty cents ($0.50) per kilometre for the authorized use of employee-owned vehicles, provided that all driving for which payments made has been recorded in the employee’s written log. Where such kilometres exceed one thousand six hundred and nine point three (1,609.3) or such mileage exceed one thousand (1,000) thereby resulting in an insurance premium increase, the Board will pay the employee the amount of such increase. (b) All persons driving their personal vehicle on Board business are covered by the Board’s insurance policy except where the employee exceeds sixteen hundred (1,600) kilometres in one (1) year while on Board business. In such cases, the employee shall purchase “business” insurance and shall submit the receipts to the Secretary Treasurer who shall reimburse the employee the difference between “to and from work” insurance and “business” insurance.
