Common use of Drilling Clause in Contracts

Drilling. OPERATOR shall have all drilling operations conducted by qualified and responsible independent contractors under competitive contracts. However, OPERATOR may employ its equipment and personnel in the conduct of such operations, but its charges therefor shall not exceed the then prevailing rates in the area and such work shall be performed pursuant to a written agreement among the PARTICIPATING PARTIES.
