DISBURSEMENT CHARGES. Charges (other than interest charges) which cover a specific expense incurred by a lender in order to arrange, document or secure a loan agreement, or to discharge its security for a loan agreement. Charges made to cover property appraisal and legal costs, when arranging a mortgage loan, are examples of disbursement charges.
DISBURSEMENT CHARGES. Fees for disbursements are separate from fees for services, some of which disburse- ments, e.g., litigation expenses (which are out-of-pocket), the Client is expected to pay up front. When the up-front amount cannot be determined, the Client is responsible for reimbursing the Firm for disbursement fees which the Firm paid on the Client’s behalf. Examples of disbursement fees include a (1) Digital Document Process fee of $0.65 per page incurred to scan a document into our scanned document database, (2) Minimum Fee of $25 for each pick- up or delivery by our messenger6, (3) Lexis Nexis online legal research database access fee of $85 per month, for each month during which there is online research, and (4) Litigation Expenses paid to the court and to court reporters for transcripts. The Firm policy is to request payment of disbursements before the Firm incurs disbursement expenses to deposited into the Firm’s trust account for disbursement payments.
