Deviations and Exceptions Clause Samples

The Deviations and Exceptions clause establishes the process by which parties can request or document departures from the standard terms of an agreement. Typically, this clause outlines how a party must formally submit a request for a deviation or exception, often requiring written notice and approval from the other party before any changes take effect. For example, a supplier might seek an exception to a delivery schedule or a customer might request a deviation from standard payment terms. The core function of this clause is to provide a structured method for handling non-standard requests, ensuring that any changes to the agreement are transparent, agreed upon, and properly recorded, thereby reducing misunderstandings and disputes.
