Common use of Development Area Clause in Contracts

Development Area. refers to a portion of the contract area covering an oil field and/or gas field, which has been designated for development and any potential contiguous extension areas to such field(s) within the contract area. The development area(s) shall be proposed by the CONTRACTOR, demarcated by the DEPARTMENT and delineated as such in the Plan of Development approved by the DEPARTMENT. The development area shall automatically cease to be in force as of the date of approval of the production area.
