Detail Pay. Whenever an employee is assigned to work for five (5) consecutive days or longer in a classification having a greater rate of pay, the employee shall receive the rate of pay for their step in the higher classification from the first day of assignment
Detail Pay. When employees are required to work out of their classification, i.e. School Bus Driver working as Truck Driver, etc., they will receive the hourly rate for the higher classification.
Detail Pay. The District may temporarily assign an employee to perform the duties of another classification, provided the employee is properly licensed. An employee temporarily assigned to a classification with a lower rate of pay shall receive his/her regular rate of pay. In those cases where the employee is assigned the duties of a higher paying classification, they shall be paid the rate of the higher classification.
Detail Pay. Bargaining unit officers, working private details, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the top Patrol Step regular rate of pay, rounded to the nearest dollar, with a four (4) hour minimum. This detail rate will be discounted by five dollars ($5) per hour for all school details performed by bargaining unit officers. Officers working for more than eight (8) consecutive hours at a private detail shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the above stated rates. Private details on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day shall be compensated at double the regular rate for details. All private detail hours worked shall be documented, processed and paid to the officer through the Town’s bi-weekly payroll system, based on the hourly rates detailed above. Private detail pay is not included in an officer’s pensionable pay. The Town will xxxx each private company for the amount paid to the officer for each detail, plus a reasonable administrative fee as set by Town ordinance. Recommendations for administrative fees in excess of 10% of the standard hourly rate will be set only after consultation with the bargaining unit.

The Town retains the right to assign any employee to a private detail should there be no employees wishing to accept same, provided there are adequate assurances of payment by the person or corporation for whom the detail is to be performed. All details shall be assigned through the Portsmouth Fire Department. All employees of the Portsmouth Fire Department covered by this Agreement who are assigned to a private detail shall be compensated at the rate of ($50.00) (detail rate), with a minimum guarantee of four (4) hours pay in the event a detail requires less than four (4) hours. All employees of the Portsmouth Fire Department covered by this Agreement who are assigned to a private detail on the following holidays shall be compensated at the rate of double time (2 times) the detail rate for such details, with the minimum four (4) hour guarantee in effect. Said holidays are: Independence Day (July 4), except for civic details Thanksgiving Day Christmas Eve (from 6:00 p.m.) Christmas Day New Year’s Eve (from 6:00 p.m.) New Year’s Day For any detail which is not canceled at least two (2) hours before the detail is to start, the assigned employee shall receive four (4) hours pay, to be made by the person or corporation for whom the detail is performed. The pay for said detail shall be paid to the employee by the Town no later than the second paycheck after completion of the detail and the person or corporation for whom the detail is performed shall pay said amount to the Town at the conclusion of the detail. Details shall be assigned on a rotating basis by departmental seniority among the Department’s personnel, including those who hold the rank of Deputy Chief. The Town may charge an additional administrative fee to said person or corporation in addition to the detail rate.

Detail Pay. The following rate of compensation shall apply to special details and the rate shall be paid or agreed to by the user before the detail is assigned. No employee is authorized to accept a special detail except through an assignment by the department. Effective 7/1/20, $50.00 per hour with a 4-hour minimum for each block of time up to eight hours performed for utility work. Any time paid thereafter would be for actual time worked. There is one 4-hour minimum block of time for detail work performed for the Town, private citizens or non-profits. Any time paid thereafter would be for actual time worked. The Town does not undertake to guarantee payment of charges made for details, but will submit to the responsible party a bill for the services of an employee or firefighter in accordance with the foregoing rate of compensation. Employees shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44, Section 53C of the General Laws.
