Assets attached with RFID would allow the asset to be automatically received for through scanning. The scanning process would eliminate transcription errors in that process. Assets arriving to depot level maintenance are usually disassembled and stripped down to bare metal. RFID’s attached to these assets will have to be removed or they may become damaged in the repair process. Therefore, the benefits of the RFID would be lost after the maintenance process.
