Defensibility. The defensibility of the victim relates to the power balance between him and the vigilante. Mhen a child is assaulted by an adult vigilante, the victim’s defensibility is for instance much lower than would generally be the case with an adult victim. The same is true for the use of weapons: a unilateral use of weapons by the vigilante decreases the victim’s defensibility. Legal defensibility can also be specified in this context: the extent to which the legal system is equally (perceived to be) available to the parties involved.
