Decay. The degradation of woody tissue caused by microorganisms.
Decay. Decay is the disintegration of wood substance material due to the action of destroying fungi. “Blue Stain” shall not be considered as decay and is permissible in any wood used for ties.
Decay. Switch ties with decay shall not be acceptable for use or purchase by CSX (See para. 3.1.1, a).
