Dates on Checks. When you write a check, you agree that we may pay the check regardless of the date or legends restricting payment to certain periods of time (“stale dated” or “void” check). However, you agree that we are under no obligation to pay a check presented for payment before its date or more than six (6) months after its date. You understand that the reason dates or legends are inef- fective is because you are generally obligated to pay dishonored checks up to three (3) years or more from the date the check is dishonored, and our processing equipment and systems may not include examination of the check for the date. If you do not want us to pay your outstanding check you may stop payment on that check as addressed in Section 6.
